We are preparing for for graduation June 11th. Each 6th grade class has their own name and this year's class title is Son Life.

We are finishing up with our Bible verse Psalms 139.
What we're learning about:
- Social Studies: Russia and Eastern Europe
- Chemistry unit
- Poetry unit
- Bible: What is and isn't in the Gospel
- We will begin reading The Hiding Place
We are preparing songs for our spring concert and are working on rhythm instruments.
We will be going to the Schenectady Museum & Planetarium for a planetarium program and their hands on "Fun with Physics"!

What we're learning:
- Science - Science Fair preparation - this is a major project, includes writing a report, creating a display board with a demonstration/experiment and an oral report. Science Fair is April 4th @ 9:00 - 11:00 am.
- Bible - Worship
- Reading - Read-a-thon reading; Science information
- Writing - Science reports; poetry
- Social Studies - journey through European countries, Mediterranean and Scandinavian countries
- Bible - Reading through a lot of Proverbs - later will illustrate some of them.

What we're learning:
- Bible - (Missions month): Watching video & DVD clips of missionaries around the world. Praying for their needs and the needs of the various people groups
- Reading - The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare. Takes place during the Roman Empire. Who is the Messiah and why does He come? To overthrow the Romans or ...
- Writing - Writing using the arts: Music, Are & dance
- Social Studies - Germany, WWI, WWII
- Science - Circulatory system
- Bible - Reading through a lot of Proverbs - later will illustrate some of them.
What else is going on?
Special Events: Missions emphasis - collect money for a specific missionary (books for Mexico)
Joseph Henry & the electromagnet - students get to make & use an electromagnet

- Social Studies - Starting chapter on France and Benelux countries; history; map; government; French revolution
- Science - Repository system & circulatory system
- Writing - Some poetry, essays, newspaper article, myth

Finishing up castle project
Special - Flower of the Holy Night - We will be rehearsing daily for the Christmas concert. 6th graders are actors and have solos with grades K - 5 being the choir.
