Accreditation

Spa Christian School received accreditation from ACSI (Association of Christian Schools International) and Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools in April of 2003.   Accreditation is a process of self-study and analysis, a comparison to established standards, an assessment of a school's mission, a commitment to quality education, and a willingness to be accountable.

ACSI Christian schools use all of these components of the process to reach toward their goal of excellence in education.   Becoming schools of excellence, the best they can be by using every resource at their disposal, is a dynamic and challenging effort for Christian schools around the world. It is a labor born of love for the children and parents they minister to, the faculty and staff they employ, the community where they are located, and the Lord they serve.

The Middle States Commission on Elementary Schools (MSA) supports its members in their quest for excellence and provides assurance to the general public that accredited member institutions meet its standards. Established in 1887, it is a nonprofit, membership association, dedicated to educational improvement through evaluation and accreditation.

The report from ACSI and Middle States commended us for:

  • A strong commitment to Christ
  • Excellence in our educational program
  • Daily worship
  • Low student-teacher ratio and individualized instruction
  • A K-6 Spanish program
  • A strongly committed PTF

They recommend that we:

  • Set long-term goals
  • Find larger library space
  • Develop a financial plan
  • Plan for systematic Biblical integration in the classrooms
  • Increase professional development for some staff
  • Develop a technology plan
