Admissions Policy
We will ordinarily admit a child who has met the following requirements:
- Has successfully completed the previous grade.
- Has taken the Stanford Achievement Test and achieved at least the 40th percentile.
- Has been screened by the classroom teacher using an informal assessment.
- For kindergarten enrollment, we expect that girls will be 5 before September 1st, and that boys will be 5 1/2.
Admission is based upon receipt of application, registration fee, signed Statement of Faith, pastor's reference indicating student's involvement in Sunday School and church, and satisfactory records from previous school. A personal interview with the Admissions Committee, at which the parent(s) will share a profession of faith, is required. Recommendations will be made to the Board by the Admissions Committee when these requirements are satisfied.
Spa Christian School exists to work together with Christian families and local evangelical churches in the raising of their children for Christ. Therefore, it is essential that the family be actively living for the Lord. This is determined by at least one parent's signing the statement of faith and both parents being asked for their testimony or profession of faith and being questioned about their present church involvement. They are expected to be actively learning and using their gifts in their church in addition to worshipping on Sundays. Exceptions to this may be made by the Administrator and Admissions Committee on an individual basis, as the need arises.
