Here at Spa Christian, Kindergarten is an amazing time of exploration, play and learning. We have fun each and every day as we, among many other things, learn to interact with each other in a Christlike way. We always strive to use our imagination and just be kids! At our own pace, we begin discovering the building blocks of reading and we explore fun concepts in Math, Social Studies and Science. Everything is very hands on and accessible to a kindergartner's mind and way of thinking.
The winter season is such a fun time here in kindergarten. We will cover a vast array of topics including penguins, animals in winter and snowflakes, to name a few. We will also write our own class story based on the hilarious book, Tacky the Penguin. January is missions month and we will discuss how we can help missionaries even while we are still in kindergarten. Our social studies curriculum ties in nicely with this as it talks about changes in travel and inventors from the past. This will be used to discuss how things have changed for missionaries over the years. And of course, everything ties back into our Bible curriculum where we will cover topics such as honesty and perseverance. Winter holds many exciting days for us.
It is never a dull moment in our kindergarten class. Check below to see some of the fun times we have had so far this and in previous years.
