School Atmosphere
At Spa Christian School, hearts and minds are being trained along with developing academic skills. Teachers address heart issues and attitudes as children interact within the classrooms, in hallways and the lunchroom, and on the playground. Our friendly and caring students draw in others and welcome them into the Spa Christian family. Many students enter Spa Christian from a homeschooling setting and all have found the transition to be a comfortable and joyful experience.
Controlled by Grace
Children, and adults, thrive in an atmosphere that is controlled by grace, where love and acceptance are offered. "I run in the path of your commands, for you have set my heart free" (Psalm 119:32) describes well our school setting.
Attitude of Respect
Every person at Spa Christian is treated with respect, making this a safe and comfortable place to learn and work. Our teachers know all the students in every grade, and care for them in and out of the classroom.
Parental Involvement
-
At Spa Christian School we believe that children belong to parents, not to the school. You are the primary educators and we are here to work with you.
-
As a small Christian school, we rely on parent involvment to help meet our spiritual, personal, and academic goals for the children. Many families are able to give time during the school day and others also support financially. Because tuition payments do not cover all of the costs, we depend on God's blessing and family support to keep His school operating to His glory.
-
Our PTF (Parent Teacher Fellowship) provides opportunities for fellowship among families and speakers on a broad variety of topics. Several fund-raising activities help provide for "extras" in the classrooms for the children.
Safety
-
The safety of your children is of prime importance to us. Our building is well-secured throughout the entire school day.
-
Bus and car dismissal have excellent staff oversight.
-
Staff members are current in CPR and first aid.
-
Safety and fire drills are conducted regularly to keep us pro-active in safety awareness.
-
Our safety curriculum, Risk Watch, is an interactive program that reminds students in every grade of the importance of safety related to fires, biking, swimming, and many common activities.
