Bible Verse: 1 John 1:3 - 4
What we're learning about:
- K - 1st: Words for transportation (ie: train, boat, etc...) and the expression "Ayi, que grande!" (Oh, how big!) We continue to review numbers, colors and animals.
- 2nd - 3rd: Counting byond or to 100, writing sums, Spanish alphabet
- 4th - 6th: Number recognition beyond 100, writing sums, Spanish alphabet, learning the verb "to like" and using it in sentences to express something about themselves. Some grammar.
February 2009
We are learning body parts, clothing, reviewing colors, numbers, classroom objects. We are also learning to describe a person.
November 2008
Verse: 1 John 1:3 - 4 (in Spanish)
What we're learning about in 1st-6th:
- Objects in the classroom - book, desk, chair, etc...; the color gray
- Shapes: triangulo, cuadrado, rectangulo, circulo, corazon (5th grade)
- New animals, foods related to Thanksgiving
- "March", "walk", "stop"
- Weekly we will learn 3 - 4 new words
What else is going on?
Grades 4 - 6 are making sentences using vocabulary. This requires spelling and grammar.
Spanish 2008-2009
We are reviewing basic numbers and colors, teaching the sound of the vowels and getting the students used to answering what their names are in a full sentence using Spanish.
Older students have done numbers 1-20 and counting by tens to a hundred. They are also incorporating words such as colors into sentences, for example the colors of the American and Christian flags.
